2009 Tioga County Fair Demo Derby Rules

V8 & Powder Puff

1. All glass, inter. and chrome must be removed from car.  This must be done before entering fairgrounds.
2. Gas tank must be removed and placed in back seat.
3. NO PLATING OF FRAME.
4. You can use 14,15,16 inch tires of any ply.
5. Shifter can be moved to the floor.
6. You can change body mount bolts out up to 1 inch all thread and you can add 2 bolts to your sub frame.
7. You can change sub frame if it is bolted in.  It must be a sub framed car.  NO WELDING.
8. You can weld body seams outside only using 4 inch wide strap, 1/4 inch thick.  Doors and trunk.
9. You can use 6 bolts to hold hood down, only 2 can be hooked to frame with 5 inch washers 1/4 inch thick.  Must have two 10 inch holes for fires or cut center of hood out.
10. Trunk can also be held down with four 1 inch all thread and washers can be up to 5 inches 1/4 inch thick.
11. Bumpers can be welded to the frame with a 4 inch by 6 inch by 1/4 inch plate ONLY.  Or can be bolted on, nothing bigger than 1 inch all thread.
12. DO NOT paint or undercoat the frame.  If it is painted or undercoated with anything you will not be inspected.
13. 4 point cage can be used inside drivers compartment.  Side bars can be no bigger than 2 by 6 channel.  Cross bars can be no bigger than 4 inches.  Can not have down bars to the floor.  Cross bars can be up to 1 foot behind seat.
14. Motor can be any make or model.  Motor can be welded or chained in orig. place ONLY.
15. You may weld your coil springs in your GMs and Fords.
16. THERE WILL BE NO SAND BAGGING ALLOWED IN THIS DERBY!!!!!!!

4 Cylinder and V6 Compact Class

1. All glass, inter. and chrome must be removed from car.  This must be done before entering fairgrounds.
2. Cars can not be more than 110 inch wheel base.
3. No AMC Pacers.
4. Cars must have stock motors.
5. Bumpers may be inner changed with any 4-cyl. or V6 comp. car ONLY.
6. Gas tank may be moved to back seat or under car if in front of axle.
7. Battery can be moved to front seat, but it must be covered.
8. Doors can be welded or chained.
9. 4 point cage can be used.
10. Cross bars must stay behind fire wall no more than 12 inches behind drivers seat.
11. Tires can be any ply.
12. Two 10 inch holes must be cut in hood.
13. Electric fuel pump must have a shut off switch within 16 inches of driver.

4 Cylinder, V6 Compact Class, Youth Derby Ages 12-15 Stock

1. All glass, inter. and chrome must be removed from car.  This must be done before entering fairgrounds.
2. Cars can not be more than 110 inch wheel base.
3. No AMC Pacers.
4. Cars must have stock motors.
5. BUMPERS MUST BE STOCK ONLY.
6. Gas tank may be moved to back seat or under car if in front of axle.
7. Battery can be moved to front seat, but it must be covered.
8. Doors can be welded or chained.  Drivers door can have 2 inch angle across the driver door on the outside for safety, it can not exceed 6 inches past door seams and MUST have a wire window net.
9. 4 point cage can be used.
10. Cross bars must stay behind fire wall and in front of rear hump or rear deck.
11. Tires can be any ply.
12. Two 10 inch holes must be cut in hood.
13. MUST have a bar or chain from roof to dash in center of windshield.
14. If it doesn't say it, it doesn't mean you can do it.  Call with questions:
